Catching Up: The Most Interesting Tech Stories of the Day (6/28)

We can only write so many stories here every day, but we read (or at least skim) through quite a few throughout the course of any given day. Here is a selection of some of the most interesting and thought-provoking stories we saw today.

Google+ Day

Today looked as if it would be a Microsoft-focused day, given the worldwide launch of Office 365. Google, however, had other plans and launched a plethora of new tools today, ranging from its Google+ social networking initiative, to announcing a planned redesign of virtually all of its properties and launching a new feature for search that highlights content creators. Any one of these stories would likely have dominated the news today, but somehow Google felt that it had to release all of these updates within a 6-hour window today. Unsurprisingly, our list today is dominated by Google, with some Office 365 and a few other stories that went mostly unnoticed thrown in for good measure.

As an experiment, we are using Pearltrees to curate these stories. Just click on a headline that looks interesting to you and an overlay with the article will appear. Use the arrow buttons at the top of the screen to navigate between stories.
