Live Blog and Video: Microsoft's CES Keynote with Steve Ballmer

Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer is giving the official opening keynote address of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30pm PT/9:30pm ET today.

Microsoft already announced its plans to bring the next version of Windows to ARM and similar system on a chip (SoC) architectures earlier today, but we expect Ballmer to have a few more aces up his sleeve, though he will surely also delve into the ARM announcement in today’s keynote and maybe even showcase a bit of the Windows 8 user interface.

Besides talking about ARM and Windows 8, we will surely also hear more about Windows Phone and Windows 7 on tablets. It’s also been rumored that Microsoft could unveil a new TV set-top box today.
